Hog Roast by the Sea in Mersea Island.

SPEssex were so excited to be asked to carter for a post wedding brunch in Mersea Island.
The location was just beautiful, a gorgeous house by the sea with the sun shining, what more could anyone possibly need! We arrived super early on site as the serve time for the hog and salads was 12 midday. As SPEssex always cook from fresh on site it meant an early alarm call. Once on site the first thing we did was to get the hog cooking, perfection takes a while to cook  Once the hog was on and turning over the hot hot flames it was time to set up our pop up Gazebo and kitchen station as we had salads and coleslaw to make. The menu chosen was based on the fact that the wedding party would have an almighty hang over from the previous day’s events, so on the menu was lots of lovely fresh rolls and wraps for the hog roast Mersea Island and stuffing, this certainly helped to ease the sore heads and soak up all those bubbles, fresh green leaf salad with peppers, red onion and radish for a little heat kick, and our special own recipe coleslaw. The guests started to arrive at 11am. The first thing each guest said was how fantastic the hog roast Mersea Island smelt and that they could not wait to devour a pig in a bun! One guest was so impressed with our hog and watching it turn on the spit, they literally stayed close by to keep an eye on it and to be the first in the que as they were starving.
At 11.45am we had a que! So head chef Chris carved the hog as quickly as he possibly could so that we could serve the first batch of hungry customers.
The serve was unusually very quick as everyone was just too hungry. We literally lost count of the amount of times that we were told how fabulous the food was and how fresh and tasty the salads and coleslaw were. At SPEssex we never get bored of hearing just how great our food is.
After what seemed like the fastest serve we had done we discreetly cleaned away our kit and left the party with everyone feeling satisfied and very full. Another satisfied customer serviced by Chris and Kat at SPEssex!
