We were asked to provide a hog roast with all the trimmings for a garden Halloween party and firework display in Shenfield. We arrived at 1pm to start the set-up, thankfully it wasn’t too cold. We set up our gazebo and kitchen fairly quickly so we could get the hog onto the flames.
At Spitting Pig Essex we only ever cook the hog fresh on site, this is always a talking point with our customers as they are so intrigued to see a fresh uncooked hog cooked from scratch. With the hog roast in Shenfield happily spitting over the hot flames we started to prepare the rest of the menu. Our client had chosen our very popular Menu 3, hog, salads and a potato option of crispy spiced wedges. They also added two extra options of chunky vegetable skewers and juicy Cumberland sausages with fried onions and tomato sauce for the children. With all the food prep done and the hog almost cooked to perfection the guests started to arrive, everyone was so excited to see the hog roast in Shenfield, especially the male guests! With bubbles and beer flowing we started to prepare for serve. As soon as our head chef started to cut into the crispy crackling we had a que of guests asking if they could just have a little taste……. Obviously we are happy to oblige. There really is nothing better than cracking straight from the hog!
We had a very successful serve, the children loved the sausage rolls with onions whilst the adults indulged in succulent hog roast Shenfield. Smiling faces and happy bellies all round. Whilst the fireworks were banging and hissing we quickly and quietly cleaned away. When we were ready to leave we were met with kisses and cuddles of appreciation from our clients. There really is no better feeling than appreciation.
