Three Meat Hog Roast, Chelmer Village.

Last weekend we provided catering for a returning customer, The Anchor Inn. Historically they have had a traditional hog roast in Chelmer Village so they decided to try a new menu. They opted for our three slow roasted meats, three distinctly different flavours that are a real taste sensation and cooked with our very own secret recipes, Smokey BBQ and Apple pulled pork, beyond beefy Brisket and our minted Caribbean lamb, all slow roasted for hours for a melt in the mouth experience. The meats were accompanied with seasoned potato wedges, homemade coleslaw, spring green leaf salad and tomato with mozzarella salad, with an array of condiments.

The Anchor Inn is such a pleasant venue, a quaint local pub serving local residents and surrounding local businesses. We arrived on site to set up and prepare for the food serve at 7.30pm, thankfully the weather wasn’t as chilly as it has been as we were serving outside in the courtyard of the pub under our pop up gazebo. The different food smells coming from our gazebo really did gain attention, they literally could not wait for the hog roast Chelmer Village serve time. Not wanting to disappoint we started to serve a little earlier than we anticipated. The guests found it so difficult to choose between the flavours they had to try all three meats! We even managed to convert a customer who does not like lamb……. they do now! :0) The brisket was a particular favourite, one guest had two brisket rolls within a matter of minutes, we knew he was enjoying the taste as he was quite vocal with his enjoyment.

There really is no better satisfaction than watching guests enjoy the food that we prepare with love and enjoyment. We really are lucky here at SPEssex as we love our job!!
