Hog Roast Great Tey – Boxing Match

It was the event of the year in our hometown, the annual boxing show where people come from wide and afar to see the show and it has built up quite a reputation over the years. We were honoured to be asked to do the catering and as we travelled there early morning last week we were all feeling very excited!

Catering a Hog Roast Great Tey for 300 guests and the boxers too after the fight they had been on a near starvation diet for months leading up to the fight and we were going to make sure the boxers were well fed. As we arrived the promoters were already there and in a panic trying to get everything organised we always remain calm at events as we have such confidence we can get the job done and never need to worry. Pig and chickens were first put on to cook along with some jacket potatoes as the foods cooked we were making the huge assortment off fillings and dips and setting the huge table. We put lots of thought and effort into every event and bring more food than ordered every time just in case!

We could hear the room filling and the bell going for the first fight all we had left to do was unload the boxes upon boxes of freshly baked buns and we were ready to serve the Hog Roast Great Tey. Not long later the doors flung open and the boxers rushed towards us with huge smiles on their faces. They said they could smell the food whilst boxing and they were starving! We carved huge portions and handed them to the guys and they fell quiet just grunts and groans as they tucked in and between mouth full’s they were telling us how amazing the Hog Roast Great Tey tasted. Soon we had a crowd before us and we quickly made sure everyone was happy and had plenty to eat they were all saying they had never experienced anything like this and said they loved the food! And who could blame them the meats were moist and supple and full of flavour. The promoter came over and said, “ We shall defintely be booking you next year!” now that’s what we wanted to hear.
