We were catering east last Friday evening for a regular of ours for a family get together. Lisa has a huge family and every few months the all get together at her lovely large farm house and we always get the honour of being asked to come at cater for them with a Hog Roast Monsale. Lisa is now more like a friend and our biggest fan! We arrived mid afternoon and had a coffee and a catch up with Lisa then it was time to get cooking for the meal to be served at 6pm. Lisa as always had the tables all set and all we had to do was set up the preparation table and the machine.
Catering for 45 guests and lamb was the meat to be cooked, as it always is Lisa loves our lamb! A nice tangy mint sauce was the first side to be made we make all our sides and sauces on site we make everything fresh apart form our baked produce such as buns and pastries but even then they are made fresh on the day by the Hog Roast Monsale team.
We then prepared a large cheese board using lots of fine cheeses and placing next to the cheese board some breadsticks and home made chutney. We then made a large fresh green salad and a mixed feta cheese and kidney bean salad one of Lisa’s favourites! We placed some quiche and scotch eggs out on the tables again baked fresh that day and some coleslaw too. We placed some condiments on the tables and the lamb just smelt amazing Lisa was in and out chatting to us and saying she couldn’t wait for the family to arrive as the smell of the meat cooking was making her so hungry. But she didn’t have long to wait, as before we knew it, it was time to serve. The lamb just fell apart so tender and succulent we placed it in buns and wraps and the guests helped themselves to sides. We knew all of the faces there and it didn’t even feel like work as if felt we were catering for friends and we absolutely love it when that happens and these days it happens a lot for Hog Roast Monsale.
