Roll up, roll up! Didn’t you hear? The circus was in Newport last weekend, and Hog Roast Newport had the pleasure of dazzling the ticket holders with our Southern Slow Roast Spread!
The organiser of this incredible event, Lyndsey, had been the one to hire Hog Roast Newport on this occasion, which saw our crew, led by catering manager, James, treat the 400 guests to an outstanding feast of Cajun spiced whole roast chickens, fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs and BBQ pork butt, with an additional meat-free option of grilled vegetable (halloumi optional) skewers for plant-based attendees.
In addition to the flavoursome mains, James and the team had also rustled up some spectacular sides for the guests to indulge in. These consisted of our iconic Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, legendary potato salad, mixed sweet potato and regular fries and, as an added extra, a seasonal green leaf salad. This flawless feast was served to the guests using our environmentally-friendly bamboo wooden crockery, with matching cutlery and disposable napkins, which made it easy for the ticket holders to fully explore the venue and all that it had to offer, whilst chowing down on our delicious grub.
As the guests munched their way through a generous serving of impeccable food, they witnessed adrenaline-packed performances from stunt acts and trapeze artists, who wowed the crowds with their nail-biting tricks. There were also clowns playing pranks on each other and making balloon animals for children, while fire jugglers and sword-eaters kept everyone on edge with their impressive skills!
All around Hog Roast Newport, there were stalls selling sweet treats like candy floss, ice cream and sticks of rock. Plus there was a range of different circus games, which could be played in exchange for prizes, such as down the clown, hook-a-duck and ring toss.
With plenty to do to keep the visitors occupied all evening, everyone had a splendid time – especially Hog Roast Newport’s caterers! Our team was thrilled to be able to serve our food to so many wonderful people, some of whom were so impressed that they showed considerable interest in having us help out at their events in future.
