For us, one of the most enjoyable things about Christmas isn’t even the day itself. Don’t get us wrong; we love spending time with family and chowing down on a massive lunch as much as the next person! But there’s something about the weeks leading up to the holiday period and helping others have a fantastic time that, in our book, just cannot be replicated. So, for Hog Roast Chelmsford’s catering crew, it always feels like Christmas starts long before the 25th of December and this year, it came even earlier than usual.
From mid-November onwards, work has been a whirlwind of festive fun for our team, and earlier this month, we drove all the way to London for the annual Westminster and Holborn Law Society Christmas party. This year, the individual in charge of arranging everything was Michael, who let us know to expect 250 guests from the London Young Lawyers Group, Middle Temple Young Barristers Association and WHLS. As well as this, tickets were available to any young London-based lawyers looking to network.
The event took place at London’s famous Middle Temple Hall, an exquisite Elizabethan building with ornate details and sprawling gardens. With plenty of space inside, too, it was the perfect spot for the large party that Michael had put together.
Aiming to please everyone, Hog Roast Chelmsford spent all afternoon working on bringing our Classic Hog Roast Menu to life, which resulted in a very large, slow-roasted pig served with stuffing, crackling and applesauce accompaniments. Catering to those with different dietary requirements, we also prepared 20 halal steaks along with a meat-free option of BBQ pulled jackfruit. As for side dishes, we served a mix of sweet potato and regular fries, deliciously creamy coleslaw and fresh-baked gluten-free rolls for the guests to choose from.
The guests arrived an hour before the food was scheduled to be served, and they were immediately drawn to the irresistible aromas that wafted from the buffet table. After an hour spent mingling and clinking glasses, Hog Roast Chelmsford welcomed everyone to fill their plates, and they did so happily. By the end of the night, our mouth-watering recipes had received compliments from everyone who attended, and Michael was especially pleased with how well our team managed the occasion!
