Hog Roast Saffron Walden – A Hike, A Wedding, and a Hog Roast Catered Dinner!

Hog Roast Saffron WaldenWe’ve seen a lot in our time as a wedding caterer here at Hog Roast Saffron Walden, but it is not often that we have seen a full on hiking excursion as part of the wedding weekend experience for the bride and groom. However, for adoring hikers and newlyweds-to-be, Dean and Diane, it was top of the list for things they wanted to do on our wedding weekend. To ensure that they had the strength and the recovery for their special day following, Hog Roast Saffron Walden’s wedding catering was drafted in a day early to get them well fed after their journey.

The hike and the wedding was all a part of the planning when they first got engaged. The pair have been hiking for years; it is their favourite pastime together and is actually how they first met some seven years ago. Being so integral to their relationship they knew they had to integrate it into their wedding plans, too. That was the first thing they looked for when shopping around for potential venues. During this time they were also in discussions with the Hog Roast Saffron Walden team about their wedding catering. They had let us know early on that this was something they wanted to do – go on a hike together as the final thing they do together the afternoon before their ceremony. We thought it sounded like an awesome idea, especially with it being something so personally close to their heart. Fortunately for them, we were able to recommend a couple of venues that we have worked in the past that were in their general area and would have hiking and hill trails nearby.

Hog Roast Saffron WaldenThe special weekend finally fell this past weekend. The pair, along with their bride and groom’s parties suited and booted up and headed on up the hills. In the meantime our Hog Roast Saffron Walden chefs stayed at the wedding venue so that we could cook in time for their return. We were sent pictures of their progress meaning we could time out our dining perfectly. Upon their return we already had a hog roast ready to go – a prelude for what was to come with their wedding dining the next day (where they looked ever so slightly better put together out of their hiking clothes and into their wedding gowns and suits, in our opinion).
