What do you do when you are about to turn forty? You throw a party for family and friends and have Spitting Pig Essex cater for your event of course!
The SPEssex team had a great day catering for the fabulous Avril’s 40th birthday bash near hog roast Tongwell. This was a slightly different set up for us as the party was taking place at Avril’s parents’ home in their back garden but due to the size and number of people we were asked to cook in the front garden, no problem for us, happy for all the neighbours to smell the scrumptious roasting pig wafting along with the summer breeze. As usual we arrived on site early to get the glorious hog roasting as we always cook fresh on site. The DJ was one step ahead of us and was busting out tunes from 10am, the party wasn’t due to start until 3pm! We knew straight away that this was going to be a fun packed day. There is nothing better than preparing all our fresh salads on site to the latest club anthems.
The chosen menu for the day consisted of fresh
homemade potato salad, green leaf salad, our special recipe coleslaw and homemade apple sauce, not forgetting our special recipe stuffing mix. Even though we have prepared this menu so many times over we never get tired of the fresh smelling produce, its making me hungry just wring this blog ha ha. As we grew closer to our serve time of 4pm, the hog roast Tongwell was smelling unbelievably delicious, and as anticipated we started to get quite an audience of neighbours popping out to see what all the fuss was about. We had to replenish our business cards as the first batch disappeared before the guests arrived. With the music pumping and the bubbles fizzing we started to carve the hog. We had a 
que within a second of carving! The cracking once again was the star of the show, the guests just could not get enough. The serve went without a hitch and with all the guests happily full of hog and bubbles we discreetly cleaned and cleared away. As we said our goodbyes we were met with huge appreciation and a bottle of Rioja as a thank you. We were chuffed. Another very successful event with another happy customer.
