Hog Roast Bocking has recently introduced this menu so is looking forward to serving it this summer! Alfresco means outside dining so this menu is a particular good idea for marquee or outdoor weddings, even the unusual tepee weddings! Hog Roast Bocking was trying to produce a more rustic vibe with this menu with the food being served on wooden boards and on bamboo plates. The advantage of using bamboo plates is that they are bio-degradable and therefore environmentally friendly – bonus!
Rather than having canapés or plated starters, you and your guests will enjoy an antipasti platter. The antipasti platters are divine, filled with flavourful meats and fine cheeses. Enjoy meats and cheeses such as salami, Parma ham and parmagiano. These are accompanied by artisan breads, sun-dried tomatoes, mixed olives and rocket. A mini feast as an appetiser. The tables will have been laid with plates, cutlery and dipping condiments of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar before the wooden boards are placed in the middle where the guests can then help themselves.
Now for the main event: Hog Roast! A whole roasted pig with all the trimmings that will have been roasted on low heat over a long period of time guaranteeing succulent meat and crisp crackling. Enjoy the juicy meat in a roll of your choice; cheesy, soft white, crusty, wholemeal, or even in a wrap! The tasty pork will be accompanied with flavourful sage and onion stuffing and sauce. Will you opt for the traditional apple sauce or try something new like sweet chilli or keep it simple with ketchup.
To make the main even more exciting and delicious it is served with freshly prepared salads, creamy coleslaw, seasonal leaves mixed salad and cherry tomato, buffalo mozzarella and basil leaf salad. A rainbow of both colour and flavour. To top it off, a potato option is also served. Will you go with the roasted new potatoes infused with rosemary and garlic or the new potatoes in a blanket of herbed butter?
